Stepping Up to Lead With a Purpose: Riverside Homes Co-Owner Chris Wood Named New NEFBA President
February 7, 2023
Eventually all things fall into place. And for Riverside Homes Co-Owner Chris Wood, that has never felt more true with the start of 2023. Chris, a lifelong construction industry veteran, has taken the helm as the new president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), solidifying his commitment to promoting growth and success within the building community. As he was sworn in, his wife, Chloe, and his three sons were by his side, while members of our Riverside Homes team looked on with pride witnessing this momentous occasion.
"It is an honor to serve as the 2023 NEFBA President and lead the charge in the organization's vision to support and protect the homebuilding industry through education, training, advocacy, networking and community involvement. This position will not only provide the opportunity for personal and professional growth, but also allow me to make a positive impact on the industry and community that I hold so near and dear to my heart," expressed Chris.
It was a special evening as Erik Wilson, CFO of Riverside Homes, opened with the invocation and pledge while Matt Roberts, Co-Owner of Riverside Homes, shared special remarks on Chris before his installation as president.
His selection as NEFBA President is a true testament to the passion and unwavering commitment he brings to the new home construction industry, the Northeast Florida community, and beyond. As president, Chris plans to to stress advocacy, serving the membership and concentrating on the NEFBA Apprenticeship Program. Additionally, he wants NEFBA to continue to have a voice in government regulations on the national, state and local levels. As the state’s largest builders association, NEFBA has approximately 1,185 builder and associate members with an impressive 84% retention rate. "One of the things we are striving for this year is to maintain our high member retention. It is important to ensure that the association provides value and support to our members, including educational opportunities and resources," Chris acknowledged.
